These dreams haunt me.

"Excuse me, young man, do you have the time?"
There was a weathered old man with hairy ears, big glasses, and even larger green eyes. He met a young man and started a conversation regarding their lives. The old man asked if he may share one, and only one story or piece of advice. The young man was curious of what this advice would be. He didn't want to show it, but he was also in a hurry. The old man did not hesitate to start one bit. He said he would put it on his gravestone if he could afford one big enough to fit:

It was a dark, cloudy day, in the middle of an exceptionally orange fall.
The streets were full of people, but one overlooked them all.
She erected herself atop the church house steeple, Lilah was her name.
A pretty young lady, with long amber hair, gazed out above the people,
going about their days.
Lilah mumbled a few words into the brisk, stale air, only to be heard by crows.
She took one step off of the gable, and onto the street below
Her spine cracked, her skull shattered,
Her head rolled around to rest on the church steps, where the crowd soon gathered.
Amber hair sloshed in red pools as onlookers heels met asphalt.
As Lilah's dead gaze landed upon the green eyes of a young adult.
"Lilah, my love" the man said as he rushed to her aid.
Tears rolled down his cheek, as he cradled her bloody head.
No one else but the crows above dared to speak,
as crowds flew inwards, only to catch a peek.
Poor Lilah, poor young Lilah, she fell to her death, in the middle of the fall.
As one beautiful life ended, an uglier one slowed to a crawl.

"Old man, you must be a fool." The young man spewed. "Epitaphs are supposed to be about the buried, not who they once knew." As the young man scurried away, the old man sighed, "Oh naive young man, someday you'll learn, it's love that makes you, and time that breaks you... Lilah was the love of my life..." He doesn't always remember, his memory is no longer very great, but he can never forget the love he lost on that fateful day. As soon as the young man vanished, an amber haired girl met his old green eyes,
"Excuse me, pretty young lady, do you have the time?"
